“Detroit’s Jewelry Box” To Become Extended Stay Hotel

The Metropolitan Building in Detroit will undergo a major rehab after developers announced plans for an extended-stay hotel. Dan Austin is the author of two books about Detroit architecture, founder of Historic Detroit, and deputy communications director for Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan. He explains why the Metropolitan’s renovation is an important moment for downtown Detroit.
