Last summer, WDET asked listeners to take an in-depth survey to help improve public radio in Detroit. The survey received over 1,200 responses from listeners and WDET members.

The feedback shared below is a part of important data we are using to inform decisions to align and strengthen WDET programs and offerings to meet Detroit listener needs and interests.

Key survey findings

  • Respondent answers to which programs they frequently listen to reflect Nielson Audio ratings in metro Detroit.
  • Our current listeners and members rate WDET highly and about 75% of them would actively recommend us to a friend.

Who responded to the survey?

WDET targeted the survey to current listeners and members via messages on the air, at wedet.org, social media and e-newsletters. More than 1,200 people responded to an online survey between July 20 to Aug. 21, 2023.
